Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The file is in OpenOffice or Word format.
  • The file complies with the style template.
  • The text meets the stylistic and bibliographic requirements included in the Publication Guidelines.
  • Follow the instructions included in Ensuring anonymous evaluation.
  • The rules set out in the document Publication rules are complied with.
  • The works are unpublished, having been neither published in whole or in part, nor are they in the process of publication or have been submitted to another journal for evaluation.

PRIVACY POLICY AND LEGAL NOTICE

1. USER INFORMATION

Behavior & Law Journal is an academic journal published by Evidentia University of Behavioral & Forensic Sciences (hereinafter, EU or the CONTROLLER), a university based in Florida, United States, dedicated to research and scientific dissemination.

EU informs the User that it is the Controller of their personal data. Given the international nature of the journal, EU is committed to processing such data with the utmost rigor, complying with applicable local regulations in the United States and the State of Florida, as well as aligning with the standards of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) to safeguard the rights of users residing in the European Economic Area.

Purpose of Processing: To maintain the academic and editorial relationship with the journal's authors, reviewers, and readers. The planned operations are:

  • Sending communications via email or any other electronic means necessary for the editorial process (from manuscript submission and peer review to publication and dissemination).

  • Sending notifications regarding new issues or calls for papers, always related exclusively to Behavior & Law Journal.

  • Conducting anonymous statistical studies regarding the use of the journal.

Data Conservation Criteria: Data will be kept as long as there is a mutual interest in maintaining the purpose of the processing (e.g., publication history, active subscriptions). When no longer necessary for this purpose, they will be deleted with adequate security measures to guarantee the pseudonymization of the data or their total destruction.

Data Disclosure: Data will not be communicated to third parties unless there is a legal obligation to do so.

Rights of the User: Although the headquarters are located outside the EU, EU guarantees the following rights to all its users:
